When I first saw this stunning image, I thought it was an antique lunar photograph. Turns out, it's a graphite drawing by Brooklyn artist Juliet Jacobson. She is part of a group show, "That Sinking Sense of Wonder," opening at Brooklyn's SOUTHFIRST gallery this Friday, June 15. The show also includes a piece by one of my favorite contemporary artists, Paul Laffoley, whose psychotronic paintings are at the intersection of science/fiction and art/architecture. "That Sinking Sense of Wonder" was curated by artist Jesse Bransford, whose work I featured here last week in my post about the "Sigils & Signs" group show, inspired by magick and occult symbology, that runs until June 17 at Brooklyn's Observatory.
