Years ago Yoko Ono’s bodyguard wouldn’t let me into my own art opening. He blocked me from entering, flashed his gun repeatedly, and was insulting to the gallery manager when he showed him my name (among others) on the invitee list and the show card. Lots of other folks were okay’d by him, all of them very rich looking, very white people.

Incidentally, Michael Horowitz’s daughter is Winona Ryder who is Leary’s god-daughter.

Horowitz’s The Annotated Biography of Timothy Leary is definitive. Highly recommended to any Leary scholars out there.
