Yo dawg, I heard you like cranes, so I lifted a crane with your crane, and lifted your crane with my crane.

So I heard you like lifting stuff…

And people say that Germans don’t have a sense of humour…

    • dioptase

They don’t.  This was a performance piece meant to represent how Germany supports the Euro with lifts France which elevates Spain which lofts Greece.  The missing part of video shows “Greece” driving off the edge, destabilizing “Spain”, then “France”, then the “Euro”, and finally causing “Germany” to collapse.

      Germans are weird like that.

      • Rod Sullivan

Well, it’s an effective parable, no doubt.

And using the services of multi-million euro construction equipment to enact the performance doesn’t undermine the point in the least.

  • robdobbs

Why does this look like it was shot in 1985? Has the instagraming spread to video now?

  • Spriggan_Prime

Why are you mucking about? Go build something! Damned cranes…

  • kingofaustin

I did a website for a crane company a few years back and discovered  http://www.craneaccidents.com/ — some of this site is funny but beware, there are some disturbing parts. Craneaccidents.com – who knew?

  • Ipo

They should do this on an island on an island on an island.

    • Jonathan Roberts

I didn’t see any cranes, but this seems close enough:

      • Ipo

        Perfect spot.
It won’t be easy to get the equipment there.
        But luckily they have cranes.

  • V

Liebherr loves their heavy equipment stunts.

       :O

    • Rod Sullivan

I once worked for Komatsu, and while they don’t have the stunt whimsy of Liebherr, there was an internal video somewhere that showed trucks loaded into trucks, with the base truck being their monster 360-ton 960E (
      http://www.komatsuamerica.com/trucks-960E-2K)

  • jimh

Okay, but will it take off?

    • awjt

exactly.  The model needs to turn around and, mid-air, lift the big one.

  • timquinn

    Hello? Pixels!!

  • SimeonW

    who lifts the lifters?

  • jnordb

    It’s a crane-ception…

    It’s a hydraulically actuated turducken!

A crane lifting a crane lifting a crane seems like how the LiveLeak servers operate their streams today.  Slowww loading…

    CRANECEPTION!

  • http://mjfgates.myopenid.com/ mjfgates

The surprising part is that they managed to make the video TOTALLY BORING. OI! Pick up the damn’ cranes already! Shut up about your hundred and fifty tons and your damaged cabs!

    • Paul Renault

Ahhh,  all it needed was for the video to be longer and shakier…

      • http://www.facebook.com/csismeiro Carlos Sismeiro

        That would be excellent.

We would all be wondering if it really happened and sayings things like “I really do believe it was bigfoot I saw!”

  • http://germanwotd.com Amelia_G

schön übersetzt, Kollegen! Boah, Germans are such tinkerers. I’ve never seen anything on this scale though; more stuff like solar-powered garden sheds for hiding schnapps in.

  • jwkrk

    Well, that was uplifting.

  • David Kopelman

I liked it better in the original german…….oh wait…

  • Sparrow

It’s turtles cranes all the way down.
