I’d scratch out the word “journalistic” from your sentence. Whatever it is, it ain’t journalism. Here’s the putrid Murdoch Channel one, “some people say…”, which makes my blood boil.

Finke’s comment is taken out of context. Look at the entire article. What she said is perfectly true – there may be a lot of people scared to go to the cinema after this tragic event, and that would affect the movie’s success. Of course the horror of the event is the main thing here, but it isn’t callous to note that in passing. Wilfully misconstruing people’s words to make them seem horrible is pretty low class.

I was quite disappointed by Bleeding Cool’s headline, “A Dark Knight Massacre In Denver”. Especially as they’re a film site and that feels very tabloid. Thankfully they took it down after comments.

I don’t blame Nikki. That’s her job, the numbers are her life, and when outside circumstances like tragedies affect Hollywood, it’s her job to report it.

I also feel bad for Nolan and the cast and crew. They’ve worked for years on this movie, it’s their big special time. Now some crazy nutjob has ruined everything they’ve worked on. This will be known as the Dark Knight Massacre, and the movie has been tainted. So unfair to all the crew and their families.

Obviously it doesn’t compare to the horrors of the victims who got shot and died. I hope I don’t come across as uncaring.

There is the very real possibility Nikki might not be a functional human.
In the wake of a tragedy one should not give a single flying F if the movie will do poorly, taking the time to fill in that special blank should earn you a time out.
