Gambia: Activist jailed for life over t-shirt treason

In The Gambia, an activist is serving life in prison with hard labor for printing and distributing t-shirts that called for an end to the dictatorship in the small West African nation. Dr. Amadou Scattred Janneh, the country's former Minister for Information and Communication, was arrested one year ago after making and distributing tees made by the NGO "Coalition for Change – The Gambia," featuring the slogan "End to Dictatorship Now". A court convicted him of treason in January 2012. (via @ethanz).
