A wild array of new features arrived today for Minecraft, the all-conquering digital RPG Lego addiction vortex: trading with villagers, bonus chests in new worlds, and countless new map features and block types are in the list. Most interesting of all, though, is the new (and definitively alpha) "adventure mode", which makes it far harder to move or destroy blocks—an essential tool for map-sharing storytellers. [RPS]

Great, so now I’ll have to restart my world *again* just to see the new stuff.  Just when I finished my amazing tunnel network.

I feel like I really need to get this game. Worth it?

If you like LEGO, this is LEGO in an (almost) infinite sandbox that randomly generates relatively realistic (but still fantastic) terrain and includes monsters, a crafting system, and a simple electrical and mechanical system that has been used to create working computers inside the simulation.

I’d say it’s worth it. It has massive fan support, and Mojang is open to modders creating extra content and features (which they do, like mad).
