Here's Off-Beat Mama's photos show how you can build your own AT-AT out of empty diaper boxes. What a fantastically shitty idea!

I have a dozen nappies boxes sitting around, and recently decided (whether out of a fit of stay-at-home-mum induced anxiety or just total creativity) to make an AT-AT out of them. My son naturally destroyed it three days later, but once he did I was able to snap a few shots of how I set up the structure in the first place.

You could recycle those leftover diaper boxes… or you could make your own AT-AT out of them (via Neatorama)

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

    How… absorbing.

“Rogue Group, use your powder and wet wipes. Go for the legs. It might be our only chance of stopping them.”

Useful for a miniatures battle if you can’t get your hands on the actual Mattel toy. Oddly enough, the Mattel AT-AT and Millenium Falcons are close enough to scale to work right.

Not to poo-poo this rather neat use for useless junk but…

“You could recycle those leftover diaper boxes… or you could…” you know not buy them in the first place. Disposable diapers are a pox on the Earth and should be shunned at every chance and their use derided as lazy, not to mention ridiculously expensive.

But I do like AT-ATs made out of oddball things. So, maybe just this once I can resist the urge to… ah who am I kidding, it’s Friday let the snark ride.

Ha ha ha. I KNEW there would be someone making this kind of comment!

Baby shit is a pox on the Earth and must be shunned, like, six times a day.

        there, fixed it.

Clever coming from someone who was once a baby.

Once a pox, or still a pox.

    • sarahnocal

My thought exactly. If you are concerned about recycling, wtf are you using disposable diapers? Oh right, cloth diapers are mildly inconvenient.

I see what you did there.
