The first woman on a Wheaties box was the pilot above left. No, it's not Amelia Earhart but rather Elinor Smith who in 1930 set the solo endurance record for a 13 hour (and later 26 hour) flight. Previously, she became the only person to this day to have flown a plane under all four of the East River bridges in New York City. While traditional sports stars like Lou Gehrig (the first person on a Wheaties box) and Bruce Jenner are more typical Wheaties cover models, there were other daredevils who made the grade, like The Wallenda Troupe high-wire act in 1936.
