Mark and I were just discussing our admiration of Lux Interior and The Cramps. Neither of us realized that Lux was on a 2002 episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, singing as the lead singer of the Bird Brains!

This was the only damn show that we could watch with our four year old that we’d both enjoy… and then we found out it was bad for her. Damn you, psychology.

Thankfully, I’ve found that I quite enjoy the adventures of that wonderful locomotive, Thomas.

Thanks David & Mark. I don’t know how I missed this. I thought that I had heard every recording Lux ever made… let the quest to the bottom of the Lux pile begin.

I always wanted to see a sitcom starring two couples: Lux Interior & Ivy Rorschach and Exene Cervenka & John Doe. They would be the freaky inlaws of hipster newlyweds or something. RIP Lux.

There was another Spongebob episode that featured a song by Junior Brown.  It was about Sandy being homesick for Texas.

  • Ratdog

Pretty sure Jim Jarmusch was featured in an early episode as well.

Pantera did the background music in an episode, too. Spongebob is f’ing METAL!

I’m quite familiar with that particular episode (assuming it’s Sponge Bob’s House Party – YouTube is blocked) but didn’t realize it was Lux.

Also, in SpongeBob’s Atlantis SquarePantis, there’s a reason that Lord Royal Highness sounds exactly like David Bowie.
