After Ben Affleck denied that he was ever officially asked by Warner Bros. to direct the Justice League movie, a new name has been tossed into the internet rumor mill: Wachowski, as in Andy and Lana Wachowski of The Matrix (and Cloud Atlas, V For Vendetta, and Bound). The siblings are now apparently on the WB's short list to direct the DC Comics ensemble answer to Marvel's The Avengers. It's pure, unadulterated rumor right now, but it's a cool one, for sure. And Hugo Weaving would probably be on board for that, which is pretty boss. (via The AV Club)

If it’s anything like Speed Racer, I’m in. That movie was pure candy. The plot and acting weren’t bad either.

Speed Racer is hands down the best ever animated to live action adaptation.  It was unfortunate it had to go up against Iron Man and The Dark Knight.

…(and Cloud Atlas, ***SPEED RACER***, V For Vendetta, and Bound). #fixed

Hugo Weaving is the Red Skull in the Marvel film universe. How can he also exist in the DC universe? =head explodes=

When The Avengers was coming out, I was hoping they’d throw the Fantastic Four in there somewhere so that Chris Evans could be Johnny Storm and Captain America at the same time.

He was wearing a lot of red makeup and had his nose bobbed with CGI. How is anyone going to see the Red Skull in the new movie?  Agent Smith on the other hand … ;)

Hugo Weaving is the only one who could play the lord of Apokolips, search your heart followers of Kal El you know it to be true. Only Hugo Weaving could give the power and depth of character that is needed for the classic Jack Kirby dark New God that is Darkseid!
