The digital issue for Fall 2012 has a different cover.

I’m not saying this is fake, but…

    • http://twitter.com/escowles esme

I’m sure there’s no way they could have used a different cover after people have been tweeting about this all week…

      • glatt1

And there’s also no way that somebody would fake a magazine cover for lols.  See for example: http://boingboing.net/2005/05/30/funny-parents-magazi.html

    Even their whores are classy.

Designer: “Whore do you want me to position the model?”
Art Director: “Whorever. I’m off to Vegas to play the Slut Machines.”

Who else thinks it INCREASED newsstand sales?

    • Quiche de Resistance

Bought issue for first time, total ripoff.  Some kind of fashion mag, not a single escort ad.  Would not recommend.

There’s another element to this story.  Hey Fall 2012 issue of Orange County, the year 2000 called and it wants its’ wine bars taking flight back.

    • timquinn

Wine bars are very popular among the new urbanites who desire to distinguish them selves from beer guzzling suburbanites.

      • pjcamp

Not to mention two bit hookers.

Wow, that cover makes me want to read all about Costa Mesa! Who knew?

  • Pharaohmagnetic

Andrew Hearst of The Panopticist presciently spoofed this phenomenon with a mock cover of Parents magazine.

The pixels remind me of 1970′s soap operas, and the young woman reminds me of a mash-up between:

Reminds me of a blunder that might have happened in the fashion magazine from that David Spade sitcom. I think the show was called “Just Sh*t Me.“

  • TimeMachine

I have a subscription to whore magazine (http://www.whoremagazine.net), which is actually pretty good.

  • http://twitter.com/DaniKrameroni Dani Erdos-Kramer

that took me entirely too long to realize the obvious funny. i need to stop scanning over images so quickly!

    • Boundegar

Me too.  I swear I looked at this four times, wondering why it rated a mention…  and why all the mean girls were calling the model a whore?

… I see what you did there.
