I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Just trust me and do not offer coffee to anyone wearing that shirt.

    • blueelm

Oh you can offer it… in the open, during a reasonable hour of the day.

      • stillcantfightthedite

That’s just good sense for mixing coffee with anyone who loudly offers unsolicited opinions, let alone skeptics.

Just don’t disrupt the dogma of any religion prepared to storm your embassy and smother your ambasador.

I see what you did there.

What year was the last PTA meeting over school prayer, really?

    • http://twitter.com/orphannode Van De Graph

Those still happen all the time. See Ahlquist v. Cranston for a high profile case from earlier this year.

      • stillcantfightthedite

I had no idea that Rhode Island, or at least Cranston, was such a religious place.

        • wysinwyg

Compared to most the US it’s not.  That’s what’s so effing scary about that story.

So you’re saying that someone who wore that shirt to a school would not get smacked down hard by Homeland Security (or their delegated agents) and be charged with weapons possession and terrorism?  (And blasphemy?)
