Mark Zuckerberg may have Facebook (and its ever-shakier stock valuation), but the Winklevoss twins have a new social network for professional investors.

From the WSJ: "After finishing their competitive rowing career, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss launched Winklevoss Capital. The Twins have invested $1 million of their fortune in SumZero, a new social network for the investing community."

They're funding it from the ~$65 million settlement of their legal battle with Zuck and Facebook Inc..

"The band is back together," Tyler Winklevoss told the Wall Street Journal. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

The technology that links taxonomy and Star Trek

These two yutzes read like Wes Anderson villains.

    • millie fink

They look to me like Romneybots.

  • Bryan3000000

Wow.  The name of the network suggests that they want to build a community of wealthy people who view wealth as a zero-sum game.  ”The social network to screw the 99%”  Or the 47%.  The exact percentage doesn’t really matter, does it?

    • Felton / Moderator

They could always call it Fleecebook.

Dammit, another social network I have to move everything over to again?

  • adamrice

These guys should buy Wikipedia and rename it Winklepedia.

  • fuzzyfuzzyfungus

I honestly can’t quite decide whether these guys have a bit of a supervillians operating under cover vibe, or if they just wear the pathetic stench of people who were born on 3rd and are slowly destroying themselves in a jealous rage because somebody else made it to home plate…

These are clearly Patrick Bateman’s children.

Kind of scary to think that they’re BOTH the evil twin…

two inexperienced kids open their wallets to the money lovers. What could possibly go wrong?

  • LaylaSV

Um. I think maybe they should use those millions to fund a film in which they appear as a creative force for good instead of the archetypal, entitled asshats who ride to glory on the backs of the working man. Or, alternately, actually go do some good – somewhere with cameras present.

As it is, everybody hates these douches.

     ”The band is back together,”

Yup, it’s The Blues Brothers all over again.

Maybe I’m a simple man, but if I had $65 million, I would hire someone I could trust to handle my investments and spend the rest of my days doing as I please.

  • EH

    “Who is that guy?”

    “Some zero.”

I bet they still get outside funding.

  • Antinous / Moderator

Call me when they get desperate enough to do a porn film.

  • simonbarsinister

They should stick to their successful career as a stunt doubles on Glee.

  • Andy Reilly

Has got to be the worst name for a financial social media site. But then again, will the users of a social media site based on the love of money really notice?

  • JhmL

Armie Hammer & Aaron Sorkin was the best PR they never paid for.

  • niktemadur

Intriguing idea, (Winklevii) bros.  Very exclusive.
However, you’re going to need a good, proper coder to get your site up and running.
May I recommend a guy who’s really, really good at it.
