Followed your reporting on Insta. Never thought I would see the word "Shokunin" here on BB... but I think it's a word that a lot of readers here would identify with!

We're trying to figure out ways to keep the front door super-low-load-times, while preserving the ability to use very high rez images on permalinks.

We were privileged to witness the last shuttle launch. Because the weather was so uncertain, we stayed over in Titusville in case the launch got delayed. Titusville is just this side of a ghost town; they used to be the main support community for all the workers at KSC, but with the end of the shuttle program, many area businesses are for sale or closed as their primary customers are laid off. The entire area is gripped by fear, uncertainty and doubt.

I've still got several of my Pad Rat T's from when I worked out there as an OIC/ACM. Miss the job, do NOT miss the mosquitoes.

It was neat following your visit via Twitter, Xeni.

I've been a space nerd since I was a little kid. I finally got to visit "The Cape" just a few years back. The family-friendly visitors' center is 50% low-brow theme park, but the extended tour out to the pads and the Saturn V barn was just amazing.

My parents "winter" in Titusville. It is sad seeing how distressed folks are down there about the end of the shuttle program. I hope the Next Big Then comes along quickly.
