Dang, the folks at Evil Cakes can make some inspired horrific carby treats. Case in point, a four-pop set of "Women in Horror" cake pops featuring the Bates character from Misery, the little girl from the Exorcist, Carrie, and the Blair Witch.

Women in Horror Cake Pops

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Yummy, creepy cake pops for sure.  Not to (yes, TO) open a can of creepy Halloween worms here.  But, “Misery” was the most boring and sub-par, Stephen King book AND movie EVER. (IMHO, of course). I have no idea why I actually read the book and saw the movie both.  There was no suspense at all, just sadism.  Somebody tell me why I’m wrong about this.  ?

Because now there’s a cake pop and you can eat the mediocrity.

What you mean is, eat the delicious sadism.

Yikes, I thought the blonde one was Courtney Love. And I say that as a huge Courtney Love fan.

What’s a cake pop?  Just a piece of cake on a stick?  Wouldn’t it fall apart?

The traditional one I have had held together pretty well, I think I got three bites out of it. They are very dense, not like regular cake. Delicious, however, they can pack up to 200 calories per pop!!!

You only make four and there’s no Elsa Lanchester as the bride? No Faye Wray? I guess I just have different ideas about what constitutes classic horror.

What no Linnea Quigley, Adrienne Barbeau, Brinke Stevens, Michelle Bauer or Kelli Maroney? Indeed, no sense of history at all. Cake pop fail.
