The fancy new James Bond theme, "Skyfall," sung by Adele is out, and it's pretty sweet! You can buy it at iTunes and consume it in video form on the singer's YouTube page. Adele has experienced some moderate success this year with both her career and her life, and singing the new Bond theme was a good way of acknowledging she cannot pull off the "melodiously heartbroken" thing anymore. Hmm.  I think I like The World is Not Enough by Garbage better.

  2. Ari B. says:

Bonus points for the lyrics making a sly reference to the song “Secret Agent Man.”

  3. David Botha says:

Not a fan of this new Skyfall song, it sounds quite boring really.

My favourite bond, although never actually used, is Swan Lee – Tomorrow Never Dies.

That was pretty cool, I’d never heard Swan Lee’s alternative before. Though it’s so different to Sheryl Crow’s song that it’s really hard to say if I prefer one over the other.

I thought Adele’s had a more traditional “bond feel” to it than the last few theme attempts, which I quite like. I think I’m just a sucker for the big orchestra sound and a theme I can attempt to mumble along to.

  4. Ramone says:

I like it quite a bit actually. People derided the Casino Royale song by that Soundgarden dude, but that one wasn’t too bad either. Though I really can’t stand that band.

  5. Frank Dracman says:

    James Bond is 59.

  6. Dignan says:

“Adele has experienced some moderate success this year…” Was that supposed to be a joke?

  7. Art Carnage says:

    She’s no Shirley Bassey.
