The NYT reports on a lawsuit filed by the City of Oakland in federal court to prevent the Department of Justice from seizing property leased to Harborside Health Center. Previous posts on Boing Boing about the facility here and here.
What’s wrong with this is that the city has to prove it’s right to have the dispensary. It should be the Fed’s obligation to prove that it doesn’t. Which end of the dog is leading this parade anyway?
The idiocy of Melinda Haag’s argument is remarkable. “They’re so big and doing so much business, they MUST be breaking the law!”
By that reasoning, let’s shut down McDonald’s!
