— Con Edison (@ConEdison) October 30, 2012

East Coast electric companies say outages from Hurricane Sandy so far have taken over 8.1 million homes and businesses offline, according to a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) statement today. Power outages in New York City could last a week. According to NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a press conference right now, 90% of Long Island is without power.
