a number of useful columns here:
http://artofmanliness.com/category/dress-grooming/

pick and choose - for instance, the article on tailoring your jacket for concealed carry may not be of one's particular interest, but upgrading your business-casual wardrobe, or selecting a hat or accessories may be useful.

Although they sometimes turn interesting people into office drones, they do dish out some extremely good advice about things like wearing clothes that actually fit.

I recall showing up at a friend's house one afternoon, about the time that I started tucking in my shirts. One of the housemates said, "what are you all dressed up for?" I had hit the ripe old age of 24, and as of that day figured I was no longer an adolescent.

I heard "what are you all dressed up for?" more often - occasionally I had the temerity to where (d'oh!) wear a sport coat or nice pair of shoes. Before long, I simply answered that question with "what, I gotta have a reason?"

This was during the Clinton administration, if that gives any kind of cultural context - on the other hand, during the same period, one could still buy neckties at The Gap.

•	You know the thing about the suit that allowed Burroughs to hide in plain sight was the fact that he lived in a more formal society that us. When he was in his prime it was the norm for every adult male to wear suits unless they were manual laborers. The suit just allowed him to fit in because everyone wore a suit. Today wearing a suit everyday is more likely to call attention to yourself than allow you to fit in. We live in a very informal world full of adults who have an adolescent fashion sense (for the most part). That said, I'm not knocking suits at all. I like to wear them and I look good in one. I just can't justify wearing one on a regular basis.

dappered.com has been a go-to of mine for some time. usually quite a bit cheaper suggestions than a lot of the style sites tend to offer.

I dunno, if I recall correctly, in the profile shot that used to be on the front page you had more of a stern "I come from the future to address your shenanigans" kind of timeless vibe. Looked like you could blend in to most urban social strata, at least.

I've always wished I could be as stylish as Paul Weller. A Google image search will show that he always looks amazing. But my body shape and budget prevent me from doing so, so most of my attire starts with the word "sweat".
