Mrs. McGettrick's Fuggler Emporium on Etsy specializes in adorable teddy bears... with creepy artificial human teeth. Some of them have little plastic weapons, but all of them share a disturbing "I have seen the void" gaze.

The products' descriptions are great as well:

It's been said that I need a hobby. Here it is. The moral of this story? Be careful what you wish for. My house is filled with these creatures now, and my husband has a sadness about it all. He rocks back and forth, eyes seeing some distant, unknown horror, fingers coiled loosely around our old, trusty shotgun, uttering cryptic warnings to all who come near.

SMALL PRINT: Mrs McGettrick's Fugglers are not suitable for small/medium/oral fixated children, as there is a risk that small parts could come loose and present a choking hazard. Colours may vary from the photographs, due to monitor settings, flash, and my inability to use a camera. Mrs McGettrick's Fugglers are made in a house containing a cat. A cat who pulls out her own fur in an attempt at shocking nudity, and who walks like Nosferatu. If you have cat allergies, I might suggest you avoid buying from this shop. Mrs McGettrick's Fugglers are not suitable for people who don't appreciate cuddly toys with uncannily realistic teeth jutting out from their mouths. Mrs McGettrick's Fugglers are not suitable for people who have ever harboured a suspicion that toys can come alive at night.

    Oh yes thank you.

  • DisGuest

That thing is super cute and not creepy at all.

Oh thank goodness, my niece is entering that “ugh that’s for babies!” phase. One of these will surely malign her of that thinking (or just creep her and the ‘rents out).

    MWAHAHAHA

The switchblade makes it look vaguely sinister.

    • Mighty Blowhole

       …vaguely? Uh-uh… COMPLETELY.

  • jimh

Some of them have more realistic glass eyes sewn in with eyelids, which for me increases the creep factor x1000!

“The eyes! The eyes! The teeth! The teeth!”

I wonder if this would be safe for my newborn daughter.  Sure looks cute.

In poking about her Etsy shop, there are also some listings for some signed books — it appears that Mrs. McGettrick is the children’s author Louise Arnold:
“…I know the author. Rather well. Rumour has it that it’s not the greatest time to be a children’s author, and she’s had to resort to arts and crafts in order to keep her cat in the lifestyle she has become accustomed to.”

Her first book was published after she won a BBC News contest searching for “the next J.K. Rowling.” Her books seem to have been critical, if not commercial, successes so far.

Now that’s a pleasant twist! Neato!

Looks like a rip from “Rex the Runt”, the stop-motion animated series from the makers of “Wallace and Gromit”.

Well, “cute monsters in desperate need of dentistry” is hardly uncommon in general.  However the use of (faux) human teeth and eyeballs really make these teddies special… and I’m looking forward to mine arriving the mail!

Looking forward to the new Shane McGowan collection….

The only thing that’s missing is the human hair.

    • Lupus_Yonderboy

What do you think it’s stuffed with?

    These are incredible.

I used make weird stuffed animals out of socks when I was a kid (subtext: no friends). Maybe I should start doing that again.

I can’t decide what’s more awesome; the creepy bears or her shop announcement/descriptions.

  • acidrain69

    And….. bought.
