Dan Goodin at Ars explains how hackers "illegally accessed the Internet-connected controls for a New Jersey-based company's internal heating and air-conditioning system by exploiting a backdoor in a widely used piece of software, according to a recently published memo issued by the FBI."

I can think of a few systems which I could probably get in to if I was bothered, mostly from knowing their communication protocols and passwords, etc. But honestly, why bother getting into a heating system, other than to mess with people? I could walk past a house and switch off the heater from outside too, very clever.
