I went from crazed laughter to immense terror reading from left to right.
Just look at it.
What, and no exhortation to just look at the reviews?
inoright? boingboing is slipping. i’m heading off to boingboib for some real reading.
Boingboib is even scarier than the banana slicer!
My boing boing habit has caused Amazon to take notice, and yesterday sent me spam, just nonchalantly asking if I happen to be interested in the Hutzler 571 Banana Slicer.
Someone needs to check the reviews for cigar clipper thingys.
Boing, Boing is wonderful. With all the knowledge I have gained reading this wonderful, wonderful blog, I was able to make my very own Ukelele playing banana unicorn using my 3D printer and a homemade DNA synthesizer. It was wonderful!
Is it steampunk styled? If not, back to the shop for you.
Of course it is steampunk styled with lots of leather and bronze pipes. It is also steam powered with a DIY steam generator that burns old copies of BOING, BOING magazine. Plus I planted my own organic banana tree farm on the roof of my house, right next to my DIY solar cell array. I will tell you more about in my next book.
Recommended similar product content on the page listed a “stuffed fox”. Definitely something rather kooky about this product…
Great… after looking at the product and reading the reviews now amazon’s algorithms think that I’m interested and every site I go to (like Slate) has adds for a banana slicer.
Keeping my legs crossed in Arlington.
If you like wacky reviews for weird products, you’ll probably like the reviews for this wonderful recipe for ice cubes. http://www.food.com/recipe/ice-cubes-420398
Who’s going to buy Pippa Middleton’s book if you can get the kind of information online?
Now achieving meme status – check out the user image for this banana slicer
I was just about to post about those, but you beat me to it. Good job!
I think Amazon needs to vet user images a little closer ;)
There are, also, the classic Tuscan Whole Milk 1 Gallon 128 oz reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Tuscan-Whole-Milk-Gallon-128/dp/B00032G1S0
I suspect this may have been inspired by http://thedevilspanties.com/archives/8070 – or vice versa
