I'm thinking that if something like Mars One ever actually gets to Mars, the GVCS, modified suitably for the thinner atmosphere, would be perfect for those (reality TV) colonists. As long as the settlement is near a source of water (so that you can get the required 4% moisture for the CEBs) you could get some pretty nice colonization going with the GVCS.

Wondering about the feasibility of using something like this as an alternative to sandbagging during floods such as has been experienced in the Red River valley ea few times, and the Missouri watershed this last year.

I don't know how well sand would hold up after compression, but CEB block should be as easy to move, and the system can use either mechanical fill if that's available, or volunteers with shovels. The uniform dimensions of the CEB should make it easier to plan and design earthen structures, and cleanup afterword would not need nearly as much processing to pull plastic bagging out of the fill.

Both videos worked for me, though the CEB press video was pulled up from within the end of the PowerCube video.
