    Out of all the little changes that are happening these days as a result of modern progress, I find the decommissioning of telephone booths to have an abnormally severe melancholic effect on me.

      In the UK local communities have been able to adopt old red decommissioned BT phone boxes. They are used as book exchanges, art galleries, medical centres for storing emergency first aid equipment like defibrillators and even pubs.
