If I understand the "science" behind vampirism (yeah, I now, it's not science at all, but anyway. . . ) once you become a vampire you stop aging. So a baby vampire will always be dependent, an eternity of crying, changing diapers, and bloody bottle feedings. Now THAT'S a true nightmare.

Just this week I had a nightmare about the always hungry 2 month old I am breastfeeding being a vampire child who could fly and talk. Thank you internet for making this even more creepy-real-frightening.

I was JUST thinking about this last night while watching my two-toothed one-year-old crawl around. What if he was a vampbaby? If his eye teeth haven't grown in yet, would he be fangless? Would we have to bottle feed him blood? Would we want to? If his development was stunted at the time of his turning, wouldn't he be a fangless vampbaby for the rest of eternity? Would it make sense for us to get bitten ourselves just so we could take care of him for eternity? Would we want to?

I recently read and watched "Let the Right One In," which undoubtedly informed my musings...
