The thing about Hydrogen is that even though it&#039;s very flammable, it&#039;s also much lighter than air (which is of course why it&#039;s used) so it burns very quickly and spectacularly, but moves up as it&#039;s doing so. In fact, almost twice as many people survived the disaster than were killed by it (no consolation to the dead folk, but still).  So my thinking is that while dropping a whole lot of aluminum on top of the Titanic would probably be pretty nasty for the people on the top deck or two, most of the fire would have been burned out, and of course the ship wouldn&#039;t really sink after that, so it&#039;s not too bad.  I mean, it&#039;s not the best place to send the ship, if you have the choice, but I can certainly think of worse.</description>
