Lucasfilm announced that Stuart Freeborn, the makeup artist who helped create Chewbacca, Yoda, Jabba the Hutt and the crazy creatures in the Star Wars trilogy's famous barroom scene, has died. He was 98.

    At least he won’t have to see another trilogy filled with CGI abominations.

  4. In addition to Star Warts (Oh! did I misspell that?) he did good movies too, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Bridge on the River Kwai, Dr. Strangelove.

  5. The legend is that “2001″ didn’t get a best costume nomination because the Academy didn’t realize those were not real apes in the Dawn of Man sequence.
