  1. My understanding is that curry as we know it was fundamentally changed by the discovery of the Americas and the consequent introduction of chili peppers to Indian cuisine.

    I would love to know what Indian food tasted like 650 years ago.  I have a pretty good idea what Euros ate, but no idea really what flavours were happening in other parts of the world that weren’t having Dark Ages and the like.
