Vintage snapshots of wild weather

House of Mirth asked several vernacular photo collectors to share their favorite vintage snapshots of weather events. The wave shot comes from Erin Waters' collection and the tornado photo belongs to Steve Bonnos.


  1. It’s weird; when I saw the photo of the waves crashing against the house above, my first thought was for the laundry on the line.  “Well, it’s never going to get dry now,” was my first thought, followed closely by “That laundry is 60 or 70 years in the past.  Must be dry by now.”
