”…the best nonlethal military vehicle ever made!”
“See now, this is why mad scientists are generally less desirable than your common or garden variety scientist.”
My favourite line because it always sneaks under the radar and then makes me laugh about 5 seconds late.
Still one of the greatest superhero movies ever made, just from the sheer amount of fun it had with everything.
Mystery Men is on my short list of movies I watch when I’m feeling like crap, because I know it’ll make me feel better.
I’m appalled to see that it only has a 5.9 rating on IMDb. I loved it.
“We’ve got a blind date with destiny…and she’s just ordered the lobster.”
Just saying… My sweet team of superfriends.
That is fucking awesome!
this has been on youtube forever. Pure Waits awesomeness of course.
I’ve heard that Ben Stiller hates this movie and has disowned it. I think it’s very funny.
Of all the movies he’s made, that’s the one he hates and has disowned?!
Maybe Mr. Furious is too close to his real personality. He doesn’t exactly radiate light and joy when he’s out of character. He’s not quite Victoria Beckham, but he’s getting there.
This was the only movie I ever bought from iTunes. I don’t care for Ben Stiller movies but this one shines despite him. Dammit, now I gotta go watch it again. ”You must lash out with every limb, like the octopus who plays the drums.”
I don’t really think of it as a Ben Stiller movie. That’s probably why it works.
This movie was getting superheros RIGHT long before Iron Man. I think too many people dismissed it because it was intentionally a comedy.
“You are GMILF”
At a theater a couple guys were trying to remember who William Macy is, so I said “The Shoveler” and they were like “Oh yeah!” And I thought “That’s probably not what he wants to be known for.”
God gave him a gift. He shovels well.
I hope he appreciates it, he was hilarious. Obviously he’s not the main character, but he really played that part well. Of course, he Is William H Macy, so that’s pretty much a given.
This is a good, not great, movie – but I always wonder why its ratings aren’t around 7/10 or so. Really entertaining and cool cast.
