Mathias Lachal remade the classic Budweiser "Wassup" ad. The new video, dubbed "Wasa," is a gorgeous, psychedelic animation triumph that must be seen. This is exactly what this video needed all along.
(Thanks, Fipi Lele!)
I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Thankfully I missed the original commercial when it first ran, but I do recall hearing the “WHASSUP” catch phrase parroted by a few (now former) friends of mine – it’s funny how little it can take to sell beer (I guess Budweiser is considered beer) – I gotta say that there are some pretty colors in this “remix” – I assume the remixers were inspired by the unfinished BOOTSY COLLINS cartoon pilot…
Wow, hadn’t seen (nor heard of) that until now! May God bless you.
Wow. OK so I guess The Mighty Boosh didn’t invent the following out of whole cloth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vziriyVgk24
I guess that was a few years early for Adult Swim.
As brilliant as that is let’s not overlook the Jewish version that was also always needed.
They took something horrible and made something wonderful.
I still like the Superfriends version Cartoon Network did way back when:
And also, this:
OK haters… I actually liked the wassaaaapp! commercials. AND all the knockoffs. Wasabi.
