    Sadly, it was Smaug who found the Fraggles in the mountain. By the time the dwarves returned, there were none left to find.

    If the Dwarves found Fraggles sitting on their hoard, especially the Arkenstone, I fear it would not go well for the Fraggles.

    Avarice all too often turns them to madness of a sort if you dig back through all of Tolkein’s earlier stuff.
