Aaron sez, "SXSW Create is a free and open to the public event during SXSW Interactive that will showcase local and national hackers, makers, and creators. It is a hands-on, interactive, and exciting event intended to showcase creativity and innovation that will inspire and encourage others to create themselves. It is located at 101 Red River, directly behind the Austin Convention Center."

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Thanks Cory for posting this! We really want everyone to come and hang out. Don’t forget our awesome poster! :-) Our artist Ben Rollman did such a great job. http://imgur.com/pN5JyxI

I am trying to figure out if it is just a space to look and interact with Maker stuff, or if it will be an actual maker space we can come in off the street and build stuff at.

It is primarily going to be an interactive space for folks to come in and play with stuff that has been or is being created, but there will be numerous folks leading builds of kits, projects, and teaching folks how to do certain things. If you want to come in and work on a project that’s cool too. The “makerspace” wasn’t our wording. We’re right by the CC so swing on by!
