On PaidContent, a trio of consecutive, incoherent, suspiciously similar comments sticking up for the NBC's plan to declare itself Lord High Executioner for the Internet are all revealed to emanate from a DC PR firm that represents the studios and labels. (via Techdirt)

I wonder how much of this is being paid for just to assuage CEO’s egos?

    “See! The people love me!”

“Yes they do, sire, yes they do.”

I’m convinced that slashdot is heavily astroturfed by the nuclear power industry and the global warming denial lobby.

Slashdot’s still around? Huh, you really do learn something every day.

The most astroturfing I see is on Ars Technica. It’s comical at times, and sad at others.

Just curious if its the same PR firm that runs CCI.

Makes a good advertisement for persona-management software, which would have effortlessly spoofed IPs from dispersed locations.

I’ve read that Zyz Global has a nice suite of tools they might want to check out. The customer service reps seem like dicks though.

Ass-hats paid to lie, caught in the lie. BAM!

Unfortunately, they just crawl over their fallen comrades and continue astroturfing.

Ha! Excellent metaphor, although when watching starship troopers did you not think that instead of throwing all their ammo at the millions of monsters that were swarming the base they shoulda used grenades? An entire clip of space gun ammo was often not enough to bring down a single beastie.
