I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

    Thanks for posting this, Cory!

I’m hoping that this takes off, but it’s not looking good. Kickstarters tend to have a bathtub curve of engagement, but I’m worried that this is way too sharp a climb to make it, since it’s going to have to explode in popularity in a day or less. But that’s why I wanted to bring it to BB, because the only way this could be more fitting for happy mutants is if it somehow integrated unicorns and/or bananas.

IndieGoGo is not Kickstarter. You get the money whether it meets the goals or not.

Except if you actually RTFA you’ll see this:

        Fixed Funding Campaign

        [contribution button]

This campaign will only receive funds if at least $50,000 is raised by Thu 07 Mar 11:59PM PT.

So, no. No, he won’t. He’ll get fuck-all if he doesn’t reach the full total. It’s not like I wrote this detail into the original submission text, which Cory faithfully reproduced above, or anything.

Oh crap, my apologies. I wasn’t aware that they had this option. Thanks for the clarification.

It was confusing to me the first time that I saw an Indiegogo campaign with fixed funding, too. I was like, “wait, they can do it that way, too?”

Do you get a discount if you buy a pair of Emoki as well?

That’d be hilarious if they went way out of sync with each other.

Our political masters. They should be forced to wear them. If nothing else it would generate a lot of money for the company behind the kickstarter as politicians would wears these things out in no time due to their none-stop lying.

Great….now I’m not going to get
Taily Po out of my head for the rest of the day.

I love the Taily Po story, my kids always want to hear it when we’re camping.

I feel a hate crime coming on.

  • robuluz

You could even wear Tailly on a date and express your true feelings through the wagging tail.

Yes yes! Do that! Pleeeeeeease do that!!!

  • slippy0

God I wish there was some way to wear this without looking like a complete ass.

I would suggest furry pasties and earmuffs.

Yeah but is the wag to be interpreted as a dog’s (“Yay!! Hi!!! :D”) or a cat’s (“make another sudden move and I’ll shred your face”)?

Maybe the makers could produced a striped Psycho Jungle Cat version.
