    And then there’s this:

    • corydodt

Well, how else are you going to grow a rapefruit.

    • http://www.matthewpetty.com/ Matthew Petty

There were huge yellow fields of that stuff around where I used to live. Oil-seed Rape, from which you get Rape-seed Oil, obv.
      “Those are the rape fields”

      • GawainLavers

I still think they should have gone with “Mutant Hybrid Rape Oil” instead of “Canola”.

           Of that ilk, certainly.

      • oasisob1

Quite common in Northern Japan. I like to ask the question, in Japanese, what are those flowers, rapeflowers? Are wa nan no hana, nanohana? It kills with the locals.

  • Brainspore

Morality aside, who even has the stamina to rape fruit every meal?

    • GawainLavers

      Who indeed…

      • hyperfocal

        SO much win

      • Promethean Sky

         My first thought as well.

    • CLamb

Maybe it is the fruit which is performing the rape?

Use a little imagination, people.  That slice is supposed to represent the first letter.  That’s not “rapefruit” it’s “Crapfruit.”

      Crap eFruit?

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-Agenbroad/100002463876063 James Agenbroad

Just like adding the “e” to creme filling it implies that there isn’t any ACTUAL crap, just that it tastes LIKE crap.

    Kerning, people. Kerning!

    • Brainspore

“Hey baby, you into kerning? Because I think ‘U’ and ‘I’ should be closer together.” —Creepy guy at bar who enjoys rapefruit

      • robuluz

Creepy guy at the bar who enjoys rapefruit and typography.

    • SamSam

Exactly. Everything would have been perfectly fine if the P and the E were a little closer together. As it is it almost looks like “Rap Efruit.” Preposterous! I’d hate to be in the layout designers shoes now. Rap efruit…

    • kinscore

Oops, sorry; dropped a slice of grapefruit on my newspaper…I’ll pick it up…

    KEEP CALM AND EAT RAPEFRUIT

  • anansi133

I’ll bet the art direction for this specified a 3/4 slice of fruit, and it somehow went downhill from there. Crapfruit indeed!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Nell-Anvoid/100002383626402 Nell Anvoid

I see no mention of whether this refers to legitimate rapefruit or not.

    • PhosPhorious

I’m sure the fruit has a way of shutting the whole ting down.

    • http://disqus.com/Kimmoth/ Kimmo

Isn’t rapefruit what you get when God wanted you to be raped and not get an abortion?

      • robotnik

        So good, it hurts.

  • SpudNYC

A nutritious breakfast has ways of shutting that whole thing down.

  • tomrigid

Have another glass of this refreshing and delicious rapejuice. It’s refreshing and delicious.

  • snoproblem

Does it come in 40 pound boxes?
