Don't Frack My Mother: music video from Artists Against Fracking

Mother-son activist power duo Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon gathered up a bunch of their celeb pals, including Liv Tyler, Susan Sarandon and Portlandia's Fred Armisen, to create a new music video for Sean's anti-fracking anthem "Don't Frack My Mother." With the video, they say, they are continuing the call for governor Andrew Cuomo to ban fracking for gas in New York.

More on the project in a statement from the artists below.

The music video release follows the announcement of the legislation passed by the New York State Assembly that would extend the current moratorium on fracking until May 2015. The bill must be passed by the State Senate and approved by Gov. Cuomo to be enacted.

"Don't Frack My Mother" was first performed on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" in July 2012. More than 25 musicians, actors, comedians and celebrities collaborated to create the new music video. In addition to Ono and Lennon, Liv Tyler, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Fred Armisen, Susan Sarandon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Penn Badgley, Zoë Kravitz and others are featured in the music video singing along to the song. Members of bands like The Strokes, Wilco and Black Lips are also featured.

Ono and Lennon launched Artists Against Fracking in August 2012. It now has more than 200 members including Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Anne Hathaway, Alec Baldwin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cindy Sherman, MGMT, Wilco, Bonnie Raitt, Liv Tyler, Mario Batali, Robert De Niro, Mark Ruffalo, Uma Thurman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and many others.

The "Don't Frack My Mother" music video was directed by Sarah Sophie Flicker, Maximilla Lukacs and Tennessee Thomas; produced by Rebecca Fernandez; and edited by Maximilla Lukacs.
