hah. i worked with carl (the bass player) back at HMV stock processing on banner street in london in the first half of the 80′s. remember when he left to go full time with that band. i’d like to think we all knew he’d succeed, but i suspect that we really thought he was crazy. funky dude, though! and i never knew it had this particular distinction, so, errr, thanks for that.

Dude, it was all about “Cheap Talk” on Portland’s KBMS (“From Mt Hood to Your Hood”) in the early 90s.

See also: Ambersunshower’s “Running Song,” which samples this.  There were better songs on this CD (which I think was overlooked), but it reminded me about “Hangin’ on a String,” which I hadn’t heard since it was a hit.

I was the biggest fan. Had near all their stuff on wax. “Slow Down” was great too! And “Love’s Got Me”!
These guys and Foster/McElroy were my idols growing up in the 80′s in Seattle! Bravo for this post!!:)

It’s hard to believe it’s not a Jam & Lewis production.

This is uncanny.  Loose Ends came to my city this weekend for a concert and over the past couple of days leading up to it the radio station was playing this and their other hits with regularity. Thanks for continuing the groove.
