Makes me want to cannibalize an existing plug in LED night that would do this. Got several of them just sitting around. Heck, you can even get LED Light bulbs for standard night lights you could gut for this.

adding a switch to the knob would be quite nice.

Unless you're really good at electrical, and know insulation well. Plugging a copper fitting thingy into a socket would be a bad idea.

Fun looking, and agreed about the handle should be the on-off-dim switch. But batteries? Really? Come on. Those puny watch cells are only good for about 50 mAh: At the 10-20 mA the LED eats the cells won't last a single night. Novelty use only...

Definitely must be turn-the-handle switch. That's a must. Water on, light on. Water off, light off. Dimmer in between. It's so simple, a child could do it!

Also, the faucet must be anchored to the wall using proper plumbing fasteners -- whatever Plumbers use, I dunno -- sunk deep into the wall stud or masonry. None of this "3M Strips" junk (which aren't even in the parts list, don't appear until the final page). Only the finest brass fittings for my nephew! (You have to ask yourself: would Captain Nemo settle for 3M Strips?)

Making this with a battery-powered LED definitely looks a lot safer than homebrewing this with a normal power socket!

There's got to be a good way to make the batteries easier to swap out, though.

It's very cool, but it would have been cooler if you could turn on/off/dim the light by turning the handle!
