Daniel Klaidman spoke to three senior Obama administration officials who say the US may soon shift the CIA’s drone program to the Pentagon. [The Daily Beast]

In theory, it does sound better to have drones controlled by the military rather than our clandestine intelligence agency. More likely to have some measure of oversight that way.

    • Brainspore

In theory an agency charged with collecting intelligence shouldn’t be waging war at all. You shouldn’t even need a weapon just to spy on someone.

How’s the Daily Beast track record on topics like this?  Do they tend to be accurate, or blow a lot of smoke?  (Not a rhetorical question – I only hear about them occasionally.)
