Usually in comics and cartoons, their body is inside the suit's torso. The suit's limbs are controlled either manually via joysticks/levers/etc or by thought control.

I really enjoyed Ex-Heroes it had a great gritty feel to it that made it feel exciting to read. I particularly liked the way the author wrote different chapters from the view points of the major characters. He also did a great job of making "superheroes" and "zombie types" seem as tho' they might actually be possible. I am a long time Sci-Fi reader and I heartily recommend this book as a good read.

I realize this is probably just an OCD thing I need to let go, but every time I see a depiction of someone in one of those battle-suits-that-exaggerates-the-size-of-the-occupant I just end up wondering where their real limbs are supposed to be inside that thing. Or is that a Robocop-style cyborg?
