Vatican: Batman has "grown bitter and more vengeful"

The Vatican reassured the Catholic faithful that it hadn't been hacked Thursday after as unusual tweet--"Holy Switcheroo! Batman has grown bitter, more vengeful with the years"--appeared on a popular news feed.


  1. Always picked his holiness as a D.C. type anyhow. Except maybe the part where Superman comes back to life. Well the whole idea of a super man. And violence in comic books. Oh, and the whole idea of lower-class kids learning to read.

    1. Superman was a Methodist. I think Marvel may have more Catholic superheroes overall—Nightcrawler even went into the priesthood.

  2. Well, at least he didn’t become a child molester.  Perhaps before criticizing fictional characters, the Vatican should get a handle on its own actual villains. I see an opportunity for DC to add to Batman’s cadre of foes.

      Then explain why he keeps a boy in a cave. A boy who isn’t wearing any pants, I might add.

  3. In fairness, the Pope might have been reading the most recent story arc, in which case Batman did suffer a fairly significant loss.
