The forthcoming Bioshock board-game (!) has some pretty wicked-cool miniatures that look like they'd be fun to play with, separate of any virtue they have as tokens for their game.

A look at the miniatures from the Bioshock Infinite board game [Super Punch]
I’m not all that fond of board games (besides chess), BUT… Damn, the design work that’s going into this game is quite impressive, so far! If you look at the game’s home page, you’ll get a better idea of what I mean.
I just want the dirigible.
I ordered the Premium Edition of Bioshock Infinite for release-day delivery, and one of the doodads that made it the Premium Edition was a Handyman figure. I wasn’t too impressed, since the li’l dude was just about an inch high, and looked like he was 3D printed on a not-very-good printer.
Maybe these board game pieces are completely different, but if they’re anything like the dingus I got… no thanks.
Don’t get me wrong, the game itself is excellent, but this was the most disappointing Premium Edition of any game I’ve ever bought. The Murder of Crows keychain was pretty cool, but the art book was tiny and woefully incomplete, and the Handyman was a joke. I’ve gotten many better chunks of plastic out of 70s-vintage Crackerjack boxes.
This game has NOTHING to do with the junk 2K sent you. The board game is being published by Plaid Hat Games, a well respected publisher in the board gaming community. They are know for putting out great games with awesome components.
If you’re at all interested in the board game, don’t let 2K’s money grubbing ways discourage you. Plaid Hat puts out quality stuff.
Good to know. Thanks.
