Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly of Kris Kross has died. He was 34. Kris Kross's big hit, of course, was "Jump" from their 1992 album "All Krossed Out." And yes, they were the kids who wore their pants backwards. (Billboard)
I loved Pass the Dutchie!
Wigety, wigety, wigety, wack!
I remember the pants worn backwards thing being a really big deal at the time. People were really bothered by it. Thinking about it now, it just looks uncomfortable. The zipper would probably poke your ass if you sat down like that.
Given the regular type of zipper incident, that sounds like an upgrade.
I remember being bullied by older kids into attempting to shoplift their
CD. I was extremely passive yet rule-abiding, so it was a real trial
for me. Fortunately, I didn’t lift it, though one of the other kids
I remember getting grass stains on the knees of my jeans, so I flipped them around to be cool like Kriss/Kross and my aunt just roasting me for it. Ahhh to be young.
I missed the bus!
And that is something I will never do again
I was in the theatre waiting for the beginning of the Batman Returns to start when Jump came on (remember they used to play music before the film instead of showing commercials on the screen). My friends and I all jumped with each directive from the song and then returned to our seats between the commands. What a summer.
This is crazy news. They just performed together in February 2013 at the So So Def 20th Anniversary in Atlanta.
First responders shocked to find they’d spent critical moments applying defib paddles to patient’s back. Chris Kelly dead @ 34
FYI: Their album is “Totally Krossed Out” not “All Krossed Out”
