Internet mixtape of female-fronted Punk Rock bands, 1977-89

I know what I'll be downloading for the weekend: "A Reference Of Female-Fronted Punk Rock: 1977-89 (Part 1/3)," an epic homemade compilation via KÄNGNÄVE. (HT: Jeff Simmermon)

  1. I don’t know whether to be ashamed to know so few bands of Part 1, or to be proud to have known, heard and loved at least one per disc:  Au Pairs, The Slits, Delta 5, X-Ray Spex.
Josie Cotton’s also there, but I gotta say she ain’t the bee’s knees to me.

  2. Interesting, post. As far as female fronted punk, Siouxsie and the Banshees John Peel sessions from 77-81 is as fine of an example as there is.
