Free Press to DoJ: Protect all journalists; pros and citizens, indie and mainstream

Joshua Stearns, who wrote a feature published earlier today on Boing Boing about journalism, leaks, Snowden, and Espionage Act charges, writes:

Today, Free Press is filing a letter with the DOJ calling on them to revise their guidelines to better protect press freedom – with a special focus on open government, transparency and independent journalism. This is the outcome of the series of semi-off-the-record meetings that AG Holder held (we weren't invited to those) after President Obama ordered a review of the agencies action re the AP phone records and Fox News journalist Rosen, in late May.
