The Ken in question is Ken Snider, Boing Boing's intrepid, tireless, magnificent systems administrator — awakened at all hours to fix things, cheerful night and day. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
A lot of people write to me on Sysadmin Day because they liked my story, "When Sysadmins Ruled the Earth," which appeared in my collection Overclocked. I tried to put everything I admire about the trade in that story — the diligence, the care, the sense of stewardship.
