About 5 years ago, my wife and daughters were riding the train to LA after a weekend in San Clemente. Jane, who was five at the time, was walking up and down the aisle saying hello to the passengers. One of them, actor Karen Black, asked Jane to sit next to her. Ms. Black showed Jane each item in her make-up bag, explaining its purpose. After about 10 minutes, Jane said goodbye and came back to us.
"She's a nice lady," reported Jane.
She was, and I'm sorry to hear that she passed away yesterday at the age of 74.
