Clayton Cubitt, a native son of New Orleans and its surrounding communities, shares a cool-sounding art project on its way to being funded via Kickstarter.
DJ Rusty Lazer (of Big Freedia and Nicky Da B) fame and street paste-up artist Swoon are collaborating with a ton of other amazing artists and musicians to build a magical southern gothic musical village. I visited the test phase of the project when it was up in the Bywater and it was a truly mystical fun place. A place made from reclaimed materials, architecture you can play, a local imagination factory and nexus for community connections. Very much Playing the Building meets Beasts of the Southern Wild.
