Photos of cool miniatures seen at NY Comic-Con

Boing Boing reader Michael Matise shot some wonderful photographs of miniatures and models at New York Comic-Con 2013, and shared them in the Boing Boing Flickr Pool. A few are below. Here's the whole set. Michael tells us more about the photos below.

These photos were taken at the New York ComicCon on Sunday, October 13, 2013. It was our first visit to Comicon and yes, we were overwhelmed! I wanted to photograph the event but avoid the "typical" costumed-attendee shots that, while extremely interesting and entertaining, are, well, typical. The images taken here focus mainly on original miniature art pieces displayed at the show. The attention to detail and talent of the artists that produced these pieces are amazing.

All shots were taken on a Nikon D600 using a AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED lens and processed as jpgs in Adobe Photoshop CS6. The resolution of the uploaded images was reduced by 50%.
